In NARUTO X BORUTO Ultimate Ninja STORM CONNECTIONS DLC Pack 5, Boruto Uzumaki (Karma Progression) debuted as a playable character, and a new Combination Secret Technique was added for Sasuke, Madara, and Indra!

The Details Needed for Fitting Expressions
The Ultimate Ninja STORM series has always put a lot of emphasis on the details of characters’ expressions, and this time is no different.
Since Boruto Uzumaki (Karma Progression) has had his body taken over by Momoshiki’s consciousness, we gave him new facial expressions that are markedly different from his usual ones.
Of course, you only get a glimpse of his face during the animation, but you can really get a sense of what kind of character he is, even at first glance.

As for Sasuke, Madara, and Indra’s Combination Secret Technique, since it involved each of the three using their jutsu to destroy the preceding one, we made sure to create unique expressions for both sides of that equation.
We took into account how each character would react, which is revealed through details like Madara’s smirk of superiority and Indra’s intimidating calmness, all emphasizing how every expression is different.

When people think of Ultimate Ninja STORM, most of them probably picture flashy, dramatic expressions, but as you can tell, we put a lot of work into little things like this!
The Details of the Ninjutsu
If you’re talking about Boruto Uzumaki (Karma Progression)’s ninjutsu, you immediately think of Spiraling Bullet, so we put a lot of effort into making that look cool.
Of course, it’s visibly quite small when compared to something like the Massive Rasengan, so it might not seem as impressive.
For that reason, we focused heavily on making it seem powerful despite its small size.
For example, when the Spiraling Bullet is fired, it tears up the earth and kicks up dust as it passes.
Previously these effects were reserved for large techniques, but we added them here to show how much power Spiraling Bullet actually has.

It’s also reflected in Boruto’s posture while firing Spiraling Bullet.
In the normal version, the attack is launched while floating and only pushes him back a bit, but firing the awakened version causes him to plant both feet on the ground to absorb the recoil, so you can see how much power is behind the technique.

On the other hand, for Sasuke, Madara, and Indra’s Combination Secret Technique, we tried to emphasize the scale involved, since they are some of the strongest ninja in the whole shinobi world.
First off, the three Perfect Susano’o standing side-by-side look majestic.
The light shines from above to create a sense of divinity, and this shot is specially processed to ensure that the shadows fall elegantly on the ninja’s faces.

After that, each ninjutsu is destroyed by a progressively larger ninjutsu, until finally a Kirin wreathed in black flames released from Sasuke’s Perfect Susano’o engulfs everything…
This gives the impression not just of the technique’s power, but of a progressive increase in scale.
Incidentally, this Combination Secret Technique is a counterpart to the one introduced in DLC Pack 3 featuring Naruto, Hashirama, and Ashura.
Of course, they’re both Combination Secret Techniques that feature three generations of incarnations, but unlike Naruto’s group who are cooperating, Sasuke’s seem like they’re competing with each other.
